NOTE:  Have you checked out Brain Pop?  http://www.brainpop.com/.

It has mini video lessons on several subjects that might assist with your student's homework, whatever it may be.  There is a free trial available.  Let me know what you think of it.

What do you think.  Drop me an email about it.  Thanks, chagood@ofallon90.net

Classroom Procedures:

Arrival:  Once students enter the classroom they are not to leave without permission.  When students arrive, they are to have a seat and copy down the day's agenda. Students are dismissed by the teacher, not the bell.

Homework:  I do ask that we work on keeping students reading.

Materials:  2 - 1 subject spiral notebooks / 1 journal/composition notebook

Grading:  All grading is based on a numerical point system.  Each assignment is given a point value. At the end of the marking period the student's points will be totaled and divided by the total points possible.  This percentage will then be reflected as a letter grade.

BOOK IT! is here.  See below, or go you can follow the link:  www.bookitprogram.com

This is a reading program aimed at helping students become avid readers. The program starts October 1, 2007 and goes through March 31, 2008.

We start by setting monthly reading goals for each student.  Goals can be set by minutes, pages, or books read, whichever works for your student.

When the student meets their monthly goal he/she is presented with a Reading Award Certificate.

Students can take the certificate to a participating Pizza Hut restaurant, where they are given a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza.

On the first visit, students are recognized with a BOOK IT! card, clip and a sticker for the card.

On subsequent visits, students are given another Personal Pan Pizza and another sticker for the BOOK IT! card to mark their reading accomplishment.

There is no purchase necessary and the pizza can be taken to go.  Substitutions are available and vary by location.

If students meet their reading goals all six months of the program, Pizza Hut will award them with an All-Star Reader Award.

They will also receive an All-Star Readers Certificate from me.
