Welcome to the LaVerna Evans' PTO. We look forward to the new school year and are pleased to see so many familiar faces while welcoming many first year families to our school. Your PTO is looking forward to working with all of you on many worthwhile projects that will benefit all of our children this year.
As a group, we augment the exceptional educational environment created by the outstanding staff at Evans. Our organization is comprised of parents, teachers, and administration working together to create a learning environment that is contemporary, fun, energizing and above all, high in educational value.
In recent years, monies raised through PTO activities have funded reading programs, author visits, assemblies, classroom computer software, playground equipment, field trip transportation, library materials, social activities, and numerous requests for educational materials by the classroom teachers. The funding for these activities comes from our major fundraiser which will kick off shortly after the start of school. This spring we'll hold a Casino Night as both a social and fundraising event. Additionally, we take advantage of other income generating projects such as Scrip, General Mills Box Tops for Education, and recycling printer cartridges. While coordinating the PTO activities, our chairpersons will be working to maximize our efforts, minimize our monetary output, and improve our process where necessary.
As in the past, parental and teacher involvement is critical to the success of the PTO--and, what better way can we demonstrate the value of service to our children? There is a wide variety of activities as well as level of involvement. Please take a moment to look through this information and find something that piques your interest. Feel free to call any of the chairpersons regarding their events/projects.
